abdominal pains ovaries ?
Posted: 05-19-08 20:49pm

I started having pains 10 months ago, and have seen 3 OBGYN's, and two specialists, & no one can tell me whats wrong! I have irritating lower abdominal pain, atleast once a day it gets very very painful. I have a very hard time passing gas or having a bowel movement, my cramping is every day and gets the worst when i have my period. The doctors & specialists have given me everything from stuff for constipation, ultrasounds, muscle relaxers, stuff to help the pain like vicodin. I am now on a birth control pill to help me stop ovulating because they said the tests from the ultrasound said i had a cyst on my ovarie & they think it might just because of my ovulation & thats what causes me the pain. But i am still having the pain. My last pregnancy(which was my first) i had a c-section & they even thought it might be adhestion or possible endometriosis. i have been on the birth control for 2 months. they said give it 3. What if somethings really wrong? any ideas? Its been 10 months, im done with this.

Also, for birth control, i used the nuvaring... which i had problems with. And i used the mirena twice.. and the second time they thought i might have pain from the mirena possibly piercing my cervix.. but they didn't do anything about that.. they just took it out and said lets see...

..I dont know if this could be related, but i get nausea and also my breasts are very tender.. sometimes painful to the touch..Im also having problems once in a while controlling my bladder. It just randomly leaks and i dont even feel the urge. Any ideas!

Presence of extra-uterine endometriosis could cause symptoms like yours (lower abdominal pains that get worse during the period). You may need abdominal ultrasound and laparoscopy to find out the reason for your symptoms. When there is ovulation periods are usually painful but in case of endometriosis the pains are more severe. Birth control pills prevent ovulations and relief the pain.

Well yesterday i was finally imited into getting a CT scan that my specialist refered me for. I did not like the iodine at all, and am still feeling nausea and pain in my kidneys.. dont know why.. or if its a sign of an allergy. But i've been resting a lot, hoping that will help. I should be getting the results in about 2 weeks.. and i cant wait! The specialist seems to be very strong on his opinion that this is nothing and that we wont find anything. He says if nothing shows up in the CT scan that he will refer me for a laporoscopy. He believe strongly that it is due to my "stress" level.. and wants to put me on meds. I have had depressed problems since i was about 15-16 and have gotten a huge handle on it, i have also been in counceling for a little over a year and i have seen a huge difference. So i am not very happy with that diagnosis. But we will see what happens when the results come in.
What do you assume this pain is after the iodine injection??

Iodine was probably used as a contrast substance during the CT-scan. Iodine contrast can damage the kidneys and it might caused that pain.
