I am 19 weeks pregnant and am having a
really tough time being OK with the amount
of weight I have put on. I would assume I
have put on about 15 lbs, but have made my
doctor swear not to tell me what I weigh.
My caloric intake is no higher than my
usual intake, and I am certain that most
of the weight is water weight/bloat/baby
pounds. Nonetheless, I am feeling
embarrassed to be seen in public and am
extremely self conscious.
I started at 5' 5" as a size 2-4 and I
would say I'm at least a size 10 now. Not
to mention my bust changed from a 32C to a
36DDD. Is anyone else having trouble
adjusting to her new body?

Are you weighing, measuring your food? It
is the only way to be sure of your caloric
intake.
Drink lots of water to combat the water
weight. Limit salt intake and you can
lightly exercise too. Walking is fantastic
as well as swimming.
I think everyone feels some sort of body
dysmorphia during pregnancy. It is hard to
adjust to our new bodies no matter what
the miraculous outcome is going to be. Be
gentle on yourself. Do whatever you can,
nutritionally, to make sure you have a
healthy pregnancy. You shouldn't be trying
to lose weight, but you also shouldn't be
eating junk.
When are you due?

I am due Nov 3rd, and I do count calories.
I walk my dogs outside daily. I NEVER eat
fast food, or fried food, etc.
I just gotta keep thinking... this is for
a greater and miraculous good...
Also, I gained a lot of weight quickly in
the beginning and am HOPING that I will
plateau for a while...
Thank you so much for the response.

I think its hard for anyone, although
probably especially so with those who have
body issues. I've always struggled with my
body and I imagine this will only continue
throughout my pregnancy. I'm 12 weeks 5
days now and have only gained 2 pounds but
i feel like my body looks different for
sure.
I say as long as your eating well (and not
going overboard with counting every single
calorie) doing some exercise etc. your
body will do the rest. After you have the
baby you can go to the gym often and work
it all off (and trust me i will be there
every possible day!). In the meantime,
just think of it as being healthy for your
baby.
