I mean, i dont take any medication now
[other than Folic Acid and Materna]
because i would rather sleep off a
headache, than take a pill.
I just dont see how Advil could have no
effects AT ALL, when its a blood thinner
and can cause prolems with the baby. I
have looked it up, Majority of the sites
say it is NOT RECOMMENDED to take during
pregnancy, UNLESS a doctor has told you
its ok. So i guess its safe, but i cant
see how it would be really that safe if it
thins your blood...
LoL and you did the same thing when
looking up info on Tylenol during
pregnancy, which could be contradicting
results too. Most of us have gone to the
doctors and asked what we can take, and
most doctors have said
Tylenol.
I believe the problem here is not the
thinning of the blood in regards to
ibuprofen: it doesn't have the same
effects as aspirin, which you should never
use during pregnancy. According to my
research, it is aspirin which
significantly thins the blood, hence it's
use for people with heart disease.
Ibuprofen reduces the ability of the blood
to clot because of it's anti-inflammatory
properties. It can actually block the
ability of aspirin to thin the blood if
taken at the same time, one study has
found.
I have also found this information
concerning ibuprofen:
This medicine should not be used during
pregnancy unless considered essential by
your doctor. This is particularly
important in the first and third
trimesters. If taken in the third
trimester it may delay labour, increase
the length of labour and cause
complications in the newborn baby. Some
evidence suggests that NSAIDs should also
be avoided by women attempting to
conceive, as they may temporarily reduce
female fertility during treatment and may
also increase the risk of miscarriage or
malformations. Seek medical advice from
your doctor.
Like I said before, it's up to you and
your condition and your doctor.
Good luck.

LOL- I don't believe it! Its funny how
doctors believe in all different things
too. Its all about there opinion. Like mom
in a shoe said, she took both and her
babies were fine! Also, its up to you
what you take. My doctor, OB, and
pharmacist all said Advil, but its all
about preference. My OB just said its
because the effects of Advil are known-
and only a danger to me because he said it
wouldn't be passed through to the baby,
but the affects that Tylenol can cause are
unknown. So, only take Advil when I
realllllly need it, but at a certain point
I am not allowed it anymore
