After Heart-Attack
Posted: 07-24-08 01:18am

Hello,

My father who is 62 years old had Heart-attack 2 months before.
After the Angio, doctor told us that the block percentage is low and it can be cured by medicines and ther is no need of even angio blast. But my father is having a light breathing problem only at nights(for few seconds). But when I consulted with the doctor, he told us that there is a scar and becoz of that the heart pumping will be less and that is the reason. Is that common for a cardiac patient? plz reply my query.

How soon after the heart attack the angiography was performed?

How was his heart attack treated 2 months ago?

If the angiography was performed in the first 6 hours after the heart attack permanent heart's muscle damage (scar) could be prevented with coronary angioplasty or by inserting stent. Five days after the heart attack there is nothing you can do with the resent heart attack but to correct if there are some other coronary narrowing. Doctors, obviously, decided that there wasn't such need.

There is no doubt that after the heart attack your father's heart is damaged but only ECHO-cardiography can give us more information about the damage extent and consequences on heart's work.

You can consult some cardiologist about this.
