Your baby is at risk for an assortment of problems linked to alcohol and drug use. What would make you continue to do this once you realized you are pregnant? You need to come clean with the doctors right now and see if there are any tests you can take to find out if everything is ok. A baby kicking is not proof that it is healthy in the womb. There still could be problems. I don't want to scare you, but you need to know this right now, and STOP abusing your body and your child with junk. I am praying that your child is ok, but if not, it's going to be your responsibility to take care of him/her, and face whatever the consequences of your actions may have caused. Hope you learned your lesson...you are about to grow up real fast. Sorry if I sounds harsh, but it's the truth, and you need to know it NOW.

Most of the time it is confidential, depending on your age, and where you live. See, these are the things that kids do to set themselves up for alot of hurt and heartache. You need to tell the doctor, whatever the outcome. You are going to be a mother now, and with that comes responsibilities. I hope the doctor will be discreet, but if not, maybe you can tell your mother you have learned a lesson from all this. I hope that you have. Not only the baby is in danger from these bad habits, but YOU also are at risk. The kind of activities you are indulging in will lead you down a road to nowhere. For all your sakes I hope you can change directions NOW, before it's too late. Good luck honey and God bless.

I cannot fathom anyone partaking in drugs and alcohol knowingly pregnant. You should have been honest with your obstetrician. Its kind of like a surgeon operating on you wearing blindfolds. Your obstetrician should be apprised of your extracurricular habits during the pregnancy for your benefit and your unborn childs. 8 months? Sad and harsh to say but damage may have already been done. You can bear an addictive baby. Take the advice to let your mother know. Yes, you know now but it sounds like you obviously need some guidance. I do wish you the best of luck as well.

Alcohol and cigarettes may reach the fetus primarily by crossing the placenta, which is the same route taken by nutrients and oxygen which needed by the fetus.
It probably affect to fetus by:

>they can change the real function of placenta by constricting the blood vessels thus reducing the supply of oxygen and nutrients to the fetus

> also can cause the muscles of the uterus to contract forcefully, leading to abortion or maybe a preterm labor.

I think you should do the right thing by yourself and your child, please go see a specialist and ask for some advice. As for the rest, good luck and God bless.
