Just turned 20 a couple weeks ago, I've
already gone through about 6 months of
moderate drinking drank 5/7 days got tipsy
most of those nights.
After a while I decided I'd like to cut
down a little because it was killing my
motivation to go get a job and improve
myself. Second day after not drinking the
symptoms started, which last about a week.
Anger, sweats, insomnia, worse
depression, bad dreams, and the reason I
don't drink much anymore, extreme trouble
breathing while laying down. I've still
never heard of that last symptom from
anyone else.
Anyway, I went on ativan for a few days,
found it made detoxing smooth and I quit
for a couple of months, but found social
gatherings alot more stressed and
generally less enjoyable. So I tried
drinking again, the same withdrawal
symptoms came back a couple days after as
if I'd never stopped. I experiemented and
found even one small glass of wine to make
withdrawal, although not as severe a
couple days after.
TLDR
I was mainly wondering if there was any
drug that you could take or period of time
of not drinking you could spend for the
withdrawals to not come back? It just
doesn't seem right that after such a
relatively short period of time my body is
wrecked for the rest of my life.
PS. I've tried probably 5 different anti
depressants from seperate drug classes all
with horrible side effects or just plain
old didn't do a thing. Alcohol was/is the
only thing that worked for me.
