allergy diagnosis

Hi everyone,

Okay for the past 3 or 4 months I've had frequent itching on my skin, (hair, ears, behind ears, nose, eyes) which would be there for 3 or 4 days out of a week. At first i thought it was nits, so i went out and bought the stuff that removes it. But it remained there, i tried almost everything for nit removal. Nothing worked. So 2 days ago i went to the dermatologist and he checked me. Said that there nothing noticable on my scalp and skin so I should do a blood test to see if I had any allergies. The results came in today and he said that the average allergy in blood is 150, and mine read 550. So i was shocked that it was triple the average reading. He said there is nothing to worry about, gave me Telfast 180 mg and told me to take 2 tablets a day. Now my question is, is 550 really nothing to worry about? and is it easily treatable?

Any advise would be really appreciated

thanks

Have you been done the allergen-specific IgE antibody blood test?

Elevated results usually indicate an allergy, but the level of IgE present does not correlate to the severity of an allergic reaction.
