Amenorrhea and hypogonadism Posted: 07-07-08 06:03am
I just want to know if there are any
health problems with missing this many
months (nearly 4), I was completely
regular before that, should I seek medical
advice?
Missing the period for more than 3 months
is called amenorrhea. It could be due to
pregnancy so the first thing you should do
is take a home pregnancy test. If the test
is negative you could have a decreased
function of the reproductive system
(hypogonadism). Lack of the period can
also be due to the presence of a
functionally active ovarian cyst.
You SHOULD consult a gynecologist.
