Anal Fistula and Insertion of seaton Posted: 03-28-08 03:29am
Hi,
I had anal fistula. Then i went for
surgery and the surgeon inserted a seaton
on the track. Now the wound is healing but
i am getting discharge from my wound. The
discharge is brown in colour. It smells
like pus and blood. Different smell from
pus. Nurses are saying that it is body
fluid and not pus. Can anyone clear me on
this issue.
My questions are
1. Is it normal to have discharge after
drainage?
2. Is it normal get body fluid as
discharge in large amount?
Thanks in advance

Do you know if you had deeper and complex
anal fistula?
Have you been told that you'll need to
undergo further procedures?
Was the seaton only used to help drainage
during procedure or it is left for weeks
or months in your body?
