Anaphylactic shock and pregnancy
Posted: 03-25-08 02:38am

If your in early stages of pregnancy and go into anaphylactic shock, will it harm the baby? Or just you? I have a severe allergy to tree nuts, and sometimes i'll eat something with traces by accident and I'll have a small reaction. But if your pregnant, still in the first trimester, is your baby in danger?

Anaphylactic shock primarily jeopardizes the mother’s life. The embryo is affected indirectly if the mother goes into shock. Those small allergic reactions are not anaphylactic shock and do not pose a threat for the embryo.
