Has anyone purchased one of those at home dopplers from babies-r-us or wherever. There like $25 and apparently you can use them to hear the babies heartbeat...I've read mixed reviews of some people saying there a waste of money, and others saying they worked great...has anyone used one?

There's a difference between the "heart listener"(sold in stores) and a doppler. They use dopplers in the doctor's office to listen to your baby's heartbeat but I haven't seen them sold in stores. Dopplers can be used as early as 12 weeks(I ordered mine online and received it via mail at 16 weeks and it worked well then). With heart listeners(like BebeSounds) you can't hear anything until later in pregnancy like the 3rd trimester(27 weeks).

The heart listeners are much cheaper. I paid over $50 for my doppler.

Yeah Bebe Sounds is the one I saw at the store, that I kinda wanna buy. I'm about 31 weeks now, and think it would be kinda cool to hear the baby's heartbeat and let my family hear it too. But they've gotten really mixed reviews as to whether or not they work. I would imaine they dont sound as good as the ones at the Dr's office but hopefully work a little bit.

i would sugest you dont waste your money, all it does is amplify sounds

you have to use it in a quiet room or it will pick up all those sounds, you hsve to use it on an empty stomach or you will hear your digestion, you cant use it when your too hungry or you will hear you stomach "growling", and many many times it just plain doesnt work

go buy a couple nice outfits instead Smile
