attachment on roof of mouth Posted: 06-23-08 02:22am
Hello friends - I was wondering if I can
get any help at all with this problem I am
having...I constantly feel this slimy
saliva small ball-like attachment on the
right side of the ceiling of my mouth
about where the hard & soft pallates meet.
I can especially feel this with the tip
of my tongue.
I first noticed it after a long road trip
I took across Canada exactly 1 year ago...
So this problem has been persisting for
about a year. When I look into my mouth
in the mirror, it is barely visible to me
- but when I touch it with the tip of my
tongue it seems very significant. My
family doctor agreed that there is
something "membraneous" on the right side
of the ceiling of my mouth.
I was subsequently referred to an ear,
nose and throat specialist & he said there
is nothing wrong and that he sees nothing
in there after taking a look inside my
mouth with a flashlight.
But it is there...On the right side of my
mouth & not on the left...the left side of
my mouth is clear but on the right side
this salival ball is constantly there.
Any idea what it can be & how I can get
rid of it? Any medications? I'm getting
pretty desperate since the ear nose and
throat doctor didn't help in person.

get second opinion Posted: 07-02-08 16:10pm
Sometimes you need to get a 2nd opinion
from a ent. I went to one and she told me
nothing was wrong with my nasals after
putting a micrscope up there looking
around. I went to another one later, and
he said I had a deviated nasal septum..I
had the surgery, but I still have this
problem.. but as for you, get another
opinion..
