hey i am 6months pregnant and my baby girl is overly active kicking me constantly day and night. I am not showing very much because i use to have very tight stomach muscles. However all of a sudden she has gone from 'swinging from my ribcage' to kicking below where my undies sit. I'm worried coz i heard this is the lightening which generally happens 4weeks before baby. But thats too early!!! I can't deliver in four weeks she will be under developed. I can't go to a dr firstly cause I don't want to look stupid if its nothing, plus my hospital's waiting section takes hours, and secondly because it is a public holiday. Can anyone help me? Also my stomach grumbles so loudly is that bad for my bubb? I'm just always hungry haha

all pregnancies are different. call your doctor if you are worried, but it sounds like it's nothing. Some babies drop early, some never drop at all. Your doctor is there to ease your mind, especially if this is your first pregnancy. I ask my doctor about every little thing, just to make sure. Good Luck!

You're welcome. I'm a month away from my due date, and I'm surprised my doctor isn't on speed dial for how many times I call her, lol.

I'm 7 months and having alot of movement in my pelvis for the past month. Sometimes I even get kicks/punches to my cervix that hurt pretty bad. Not to mention the constant need to pee Very Happy My placenta is at the top of my uterus so I don't feel much movement up there. I don't think you have anything to worry about unless you start bleeding or having contractions. And don't worry about the grumbling tummy. It's just a digestion noise that the baby can hear like your heartbeat.

I'm glad my baby flipped, cause I remember those kicks to the cervix. Felt like it's foot was in my vagina!! Now it just kicks my pelvis and ribs, and all the organs in between. Why don't women tell us how painful it is DURING pregnancy?! Lol, oh well, it'll be worth it!!

the kicks could hurt sometimes. i didn't think it was too bad though, unless a kick woke me up in the middle of the night. it's the interruption of sleep that sucked.

my daughter was in my plevis really really low down the ENTIRE time (so low i had to have 3 different ultrasounds around 20 weeks because she wouldnt come up so we could see her lol) try not to worry to much about it, maybe bring it up to your doc at your next appointment

also the baby moves around a lot, lowering doesnt mean dropping all the time and dropping doesnt mean iminate labor....i remember i dropped like 2 or 3 months before i had my daughter then again like 2 weeks before then again a couple days before Smile

and, you tummy grumbling soothes your baby, the noise is good, she will actualy look for that noise when she comes out Smile

hey in response to what i wrote ... after posting that i ended up going to the hospital to check everything was alright and they ended up sending me via ambulance to a bigger hospital as i had actually gone into labour. they managed to stop contractions as i was only 6months pregnant and i am still 1cm dialated and i have been checked every week since. turns out if i hadn't of gone with my gut feeling and gone into hospital i would of delivered that night. bit scary hey..

im 22weeks and 4days pregnant, i feel my baby kick low in my pelvis area too, i dont feel any kicks up higher, always below. Does that mean my baby is just sitting low, or has he or she dropped too?
I haven't needed multiple ultrasounds because they always see the baby right away, but should i be feeling movement a little higher up as well as down below?

No, this means she is not in the head down position. It means her feet are low and her head is up. It is natural you feel the kicks where her feet are.

Well she is getting bigger and that will continue to happen. Plus, you are feeling her movements more the bigger and stronger she gets. As far as 'dropping', a lot of women don't drop and, honestly, dropping doesn't mean anything - other than being really uncomfortable for moms. Not only would you feel it in the bladder, but your hips and pubic bone feel like they are ripping apart.

low kicks isn't a cause for concern, my baby had dropped but her kicks were still high as her head was down low and in place. Now i feel her punches low and her kicks under my rib cage hopefully shel stay in a couple more weeks.

Try to get as much bed rest as you can during this time. What did the doctor say about you being dilated to 1cm and the early labor you were experiencing? Did they give you something to stop the contractions? What are your sonograms showing? Try not to worry, you may be a little farther along than you think. My baby girl was premature - small, but healthy. She is now 21 and still very small - 4'11" and 100 lbs. lol
