I have only been diagnosed with
Biopolar`since 3/28/08 but really have had
it quite a bit of my life just did not
know it. i find myself needing someone
to go with me when i drive so that i do
not get lost even to familiar places like
the post office or grocery store. Should
I consider giving up driving?

It depends on what meds you are taking and
how you react to the meds. Typically side
affects taper off after a few months and
you should be able to drive perfectly.
I, for example, have been taking Lithium
for over 2 years. At first I suffered with
side effects such a lethargy, drowsiness,
and dizziness. After a few months though,
I was able to drive better than ever. Hang
in there.

i am 19 and have had my permit for a year
and a half now .. i am actually scared to
get my license because it causes me
anxiety and i think up crazy accidents in
my head and see them while im driving .. i
don't think you should give up i just
think you should find a medication or
technique that lets you stress less about
driving
