Birth control early period Posted: 03-15-08 07:48am
I have been on the pill for almost three
years and my period hasn't done this for a
pretty long time. I have three active
pills left and my period is here and, like
I've said, this hasn't happened to me in a
LONG time -- when I was neglectful with
taking my pills. I am now what you would
consider a "perfect pill user" and that's
why my period usually comes three days
into the placebos. My boyfriend and I
have had a lot of condom-less sex lately
and I am worried this could be a sign of
pregnancy. Is it?

If you are on the pill, you are pretty
protected. Since you had your period and
you always take your pill on time, you are
99% not pregnant. When you have your
period you bleed out the tissue that the
baby would be implanting itself in.
Bleeding is never a sign of pregnancy. It
is okay to have condomless sex when you
are on the pill. You are still 99%
without a condom if you are taking the
pill on time every day

ON BC, you do not bleed out ANY tissue,
that is because birth control ensures that
your lining is VERY VERY THIN.
The ONLY reason you even get a 'period' on
the pill is because you stopped taking
hormones, it is simply a 'withdrawal
bleed' from lack of hormones.
BLEEDING on the pill is NOT a sign of
pregnancy.
I am a health care professional
WHAT is it a sign of? WELL, WE do not 100%
know. What we do know is that almost ALL
women will have this at some point in her
"pill" years, and it is common.

Not necessarily true. I still bleed out
tissue and I'm on birth control. Birth
control pills decrease the amount of
tissue formed, but it doesn't eliminate
it.
