Birth control, pregnancy, diarrhea, cramping, nausea
Posted: 06-04-08 13:41pm

I've been taking birth control (reclipsen) for about six months now. I did have my period at the end of my last cycle, it only lasted for two days. It's been two weeks since then and I haven't started a new pack because I can't afford to buy the bc anymore. During the past two weeks, and before then, I have been sexually active. Ever since my last period ended much shorted than usual I've had diarrhea, cramps, gass, and nausea. Could this be a pregnancy symptom or just have something to do with not taking the birth control anymore?

If you are having unprotected sex (sex without condoms or any birth control!) you are at risk of pregnancy. Maybe you could try getting generic forms of birth control or go to planned parenthood for lower cost birth control.

If your period was 2 weeks ago, it is unlikely what you are feeling are pregnancy symptoms.

Thank you for the reply. I doubted it was pregnancy related but the symptoms are pretty harsh and have been consistent and progressive since the last day of my period. Not to mention my period was heavy for two days then stopped alltogether. I did skip a pill in my third week of pills before my period, and hadn't taken them since then, which is why I'm concerned it could have something to do with these symptoms.

I'd go to a doctor.. but I don't have health insurance anymore so I'm trying to find out all I can and see if anything helps it before even thinking about making an appointment.

Pregnancy tests are really inexpensive and it might put your mind at ease to take one if you feel like you are pregnant.

have you tried to apply for state medical insurance like MEDICAID or AHCCCS? Sometimes they can cover family planning only (birth control)
