check for a kidney stone?

I'm not to sure, my first thought was a
kidney stone. Some people get very tiny
stones with little or no pain. It's
possible you had a small one that caused
you to be unable to pee making you black
out...then again it can be unrelated.
Did you start any new medications or eat
anything different?
Were you feeling sick prior to this ,flu
or ear pain, dizziness?

back again, just got back from the
urologest , they said that my blood count
is on the low side and has been, they took
the catherder out and i still can't pee on
my own, so the doc said that they are
going to have to reem me out in about 3
weeks or so. so could this low blood count
be the cause of me fainting ? and the
sweating like a dog ? could that be part
of being dehydrated ? thanks . deleterman.

Low blood count can be the reason for
passing out.
Did they say if your WBC or RBC is low?
If you are sweating then yes it can be the
cause of dehydration...it's like being
outside in the sun sweating, we are told
to drink more fluids when we are outside
to prevent dehydration.
What are the doctors going to do? Are they
going to have you wait 3 weeks even though
you are having problems peeing?

yes i have a bag on now so i just go into
this bag and the doc said that he is going
to opperate in about 3 weeks to reem out
my prostrate. getting back to the start of
this the only time that i broke out in a
sweet was when i blacked out in the first
place but i knew what was going on the
hole time i just couldn't do anything
about it and just fell. about the blood
count i think it was RBC , he also took me
off flowmax, i was on a double dose and
he said its wasn't doing any good
anyway.could make me light headed..does
that give you a clue to what started
this?? thanks deleterman.

If your RBC are low that can cause you to
pass out. If your iron is too low or B 12
deficient those are a couple things that
can cause blacking out.
The Flowmax might have been too strong of
a dose causing you not to pee.
It sounds like you had a drop in your
blood pressure now that I think about this
more.

With a low blood count whether it's red or
white cells it will make you feel tired.
As for the low iron or B12 they run
special tests to check for those.
I think the best thing you can do is rest,
if the fatigue is really getting to you
give your doctor a call.
Keep us posted....good luck with the
operation.

It sounds like you are retaining some
fluid which is going to happen because
you've been unable to pee, even with the
bag. Do you still have the catheter in?
If so this might need to be checked to
make sure it is draining properly.
One of the times I was catheterized it
kinked inside causing me to swell and gain
loads of weight. They had to remove it and
put another one in.
It's going to take some time for the fluid
to get out of your system.
Did you tell the doctor about the swelling
of your feet?
He might want to put you on a directic.

How old are you? Can we rule out prostate
gald problems. Obviously you are retaining
water for some reason. Do you drink enough
water during the day? You know the body is
70% water.
Please let us know how your fair out.

YES! I think that would be on of the best
decissions you could make in your life.
The surgery is simple and you hospital
stay is aroung 4 days. The will hang large
bags of irrigation solution to irrigate
the bladder hooked up to a foley cathater.
At first it will be very bloody, then each
day tuning more cranberry till it is clear
and then you usually go home. Nothing to
it, it's a piece of cake.
The patients I took care of Post OP, never
seemed to be in any real pain at all.

You may also want to back off on your
fluid intake until you have the prostate
procedure. You can be adding pressure on
your kidneys from the urine not being able
to pass as quickly.
Good luck with the operation

thanks for getting back to me , I still
have the cathater in and the bag , 24/7 ,
i drink about 4- 16 oz of pure water a day
now. is that too much ? at most before was
1-2 a day. but when i got up this morning
the bag had about 1300 ml . so now before
i go to bed i'm cuttin back on my water.
lets say 3 hrs or so i will stop drinking
. what do you think about that ? thank you
so much. deleterman.

Cutting back on the fluids is not a bad
idea.
You should ask your doctor just to make
sure this is OK. I was told with my kidney
disease that I need to limit my fluid
intake because it puts to much pressure on
my kidneys.
When are you going in?
