Body not aging
Posted: 06-27-08 13:02pm

Hello,

i have a question about that is getting to me more and more. I'm 19 years old and i look like i'm 13 or around that age. It's beginning to be a bigger problem for me socially when time goes by.

Mentally it's beginning to be a big problem aswell for me. I just cant enjoy life as much as if i looked like a real 20/19 year old. Lately suicide thoughs come up more and more.

Now mentally i don't think i'm that far back, when i look at other people from my age.

I've looked around on the internet but couldn't find any half decent info on anything similar like this.

Am i making a bigger problem out of this then i should? will it correct itself over time? Or is there any disease that could cause this problem without me noticing other side effects of that disease? please if you have any information for me, that would be great.

Thanks,

Delik

Get a second opinion......

Sometimes people's obsession with their looks is because they have a distorted view of their bodies - like people with eating disorders who are on the verge of starvation still seeing themselves as fat.

You should ask other people what they think. Ask people you know and trust and ask total strangers. Go with the majority decision.

I am 40 and I look like I am in my 20's. Sometimes it leads to awkward situations, but it's mostly OK.

I feel sure it's something you'll grow out of. But, get as many other opinions as you can to check your self-perception.

I'm currently looking for answers for a similar problem. I am 25 but sometimes mistaken for a 17 or 18 year old. To make matters worst my voice hasn't fully cracked yet. My first thought was maybe I'm one of those individuals with slow growth rate or my body just isn't producing the required amount of growth hormone.

Well, during puberty the body changes from child to adult because of hormones.

So, maybe you should ask your doctors for hormones..
Good luck ^^

Thanks for the awnsers.

I will probably visit my local docter and ask if he has any more information for me on this matter.

Aside from that, i guess it will pay off when i'm 40 and look like a 20 year old Razz

anyway thanks again
