Boy and Girl name help (its still early I know)
Posted: 03-27-08 09:31am

Hi again all!
I just want to say that I appreciate everyones support and well wishes from my previous post. I just found out I was 5 weeks preggo.

We have talked names a little here is what we have came up with so far.

Boys are

Thomas- my bf's dads name, my grandads name
Joshua
Seth
Ethan- popular right now
William- for my father figure, his last name is williams we would call him liam
Matthew
Lucas(luke)
Aaron

Girls -im having no luck here we have such different taste.
Olivia-popular but i love it
Aubrey-
Lindsay
Sidney

I like semi classic names, not to popular but not weird lol make me some suggestions. I know its early but we want to have it a name when we find out what it is. Dr said probably late may.

I have a weird taste in names so probably not much help to you! My boys are Joseph and Jade, pretty ordinary but with sentimental values (something which I think is incredibly important). The girls are Esme (pretty old fashioned and English but that's where we're from!) Linnea (meaning something to do with flowers) and Cecebelle (weird but i just love it).

If it helps, my best friend has all girls: Zara, Lyla, Shiloh and soon-to-be Poet (maybe!?!)

Hope this kind of helps! Good luck with everything!

I am 6 weeks pregnant and if we have a girl it will be Aubrey Marie...We both fell in love with this name a long time ago and nothing has changed our minds on it.

Do you realize that Aubrey is a boys' name? Audrey is a girls' name. They aren't the same at all.

Audrey Olivia would be very nice, as is Thomas Aaron Seth.

You aren't giving your son a girl's name, so why would you give your daughter a boy's name? That doesn't seem very fair.

Well my Bfs gonna drive me nuts anyway. He likes Hallie. which no offense to the mothers of hallies, it seems to just not be my taste...Anyway I thought that Aubrey was actually accepted as a female name too. I looked it up while considering it on behind the name. I like Audry Caroline. That will never work with my bf though..

This sucks because you are right I do not want to give my daughter a boy name...

And he says no three names. Is that that bad? Im giving three so it can be named after his dad (thomas) my father figure ( Aaron)and a name we both really like Seth.

What about Audrey Marie then? That's a pretty combination.

The only reason Aubrey is occasionaly accepted as a female name is that it sounds like Audrey. So a lot of people will hear "Audrey" when a girl Aubrey says her name, and she'll have to correct them. But when they see it written, they might think it's a boys' name.

I go by behind the name a lot. It said on there that it was accepted as a female varient. My bf does not like Audrey =(

Im off to the drawing board again. I know olivia is super popular but I love it.

Definatly disagree with that.. I have a cousin named Aubrey and she is a girl and also know 3 other girls named Aubrey. Things changed. There are girls named Rian and boys named Ashley. Names can be very gender nuetral.

I agree. I know quite a few female Aubrey's. There's no reason we can't be open-minded and think outside the box. Just because a name was gender specific in the 19th century doesn't mean it can't evolve in the 21st.
