today i told my boyfriends parents i was majoring in psychology and they started laughing. they told me that usually loony people make the best psychologists and they thought it was really hilarious for some reason. SHOULD I BE OFFENDED? it's really bothering me. it's making me paraniod making me think that i'm crazy or something....worse thing is i think i function totally normal, i'm just quiet, it's other peoples perspective cuz you don't really know what others think of you...help

Actually I think that this is a good thing. When people tease you they are either jealous or they like you, and I think this is liking situation, so you should laugh with them Smile It doesn't really take a looney person to be a psychologist, but I guess some are, just as in ever walk of life there are looney people.

Good luck with the degree!

I agree here
I too was alway one that took things to much in a personal way. Don't let that happen to you. I too think they like you. There are always those out there that are jelous of those that reach achievement. Little do they know that they themselves somehow may also had the chance in thier lives to do the same thing. Some just don't know the resources that are out there.
