Q: Breast Lump

Hello,

I am a 20 year old studying abroad in Italy. A few days ago I found a lump on breast. At first it was painful and red but lately it has stopped hurting and is just a hard, mobile lump that won't go away. It did not come at the same time as my period. I have never heard of a lump hurting and not hurting anymore, could it just be because it was irritated from me touching it or was it more likely an infection that is just healing? I am not exactly sure how to go about it because I am not in the states.

THanks so much!

Wait, a lump in your breast or a lump on your breast, like a pimple?

You really need to have the lump evaluated by a doctor. Is there a clinic where you are that you could go to. It may not be anything, but you must not take that chance. Usually breast cancer will not cause any pain, but there are other breast conditions that will. It could be a cyst or nodule. Please find a doctor or clinic and have them do a mammogram and ultrasound.
Best of luck!
