I just went to the doctor today & found
out I had chlymadia & gonorrhea! The doc
told me, & I just couldnt help but cry my
eyes out! I am with a guy now & have only
slept with him for 5 months...I got tested
in September or October sometime & I had
no diseases. He had sex 6 months before we
hooked up! How long can you carry it in
your body before ever knowing, I mean can
you carry it in your body all that time &
not know? I originally went to the doctor
because I have been bleeding now for two
weeks...she said I had a small yeast
infection, can an untreated yeast
infection turn into it, I know so many
questions, but PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Chlamydia can be undetected for long long
time. And the longer the more it can
affect your fertility. This because even
thought chlamydia is very easily treated
it does cause irreversible damage to the
fallopian tubes. So the sooner the
diagnosis the better. You can always get
pregnant but if the tubes are too damaged
it may require IVF.

Before you put away the Kleenex, you
should know that unless BOTH of you
abstain 100% from each other, are treated
for both issues and obtain NEGATIVE
screens for both diseases, you will not be
able to irradicate it, and will continue
to destroy your reproductive system to the
point of infertility.
I would not, under any circumstances,
allow that man back in your bed without a
legitimate STD report that proves his
cleanliness, and by all means, do not
allow his uncovered penis anywhere near
your mucous membranes for the remainder of
your lives... if he reconnects with the
toilet he laid before you that gave him
those bugs, you will br reinfected without
any warning at all.
Your best bet is to get treated, retested,
and not engage in unprotected sex with
another man unless they obtain STD testing
and show you the results. You should also
be certain that you're protecting yourself
from pregnancy, either by responsibly
taking the pill, obtaining the shot, etc.
because men can not be expected to know
when YOU ovulate if YOU aren't requiring
a condom-covered penis. If you get
pregnant - ESPECIALLY with what you're
tracking, you risk that baby's EVERYTHING.
Its time you stop being selfish, and start
conducting yourself with a little self
respect.

I agree with NoBullcrap.
Make him get tested. Tested for
EVERYTHING, especially HIV. There is no
second chance with some STD's-they can be
life-long.
I would even go with him.
Always remember, just because they say
they haven't been with anyone in the last
6 months, it doesn't mean it's true! That
goes for both men AND women.

went to the doctor & he tesed negative
for both...so that means they either got
negative test results or something,
because I hadnt foold around with anyone
before him for a LONG time! My doctor said
that the symptoms I was having meant that
I had just recently gotten it! I swear
these doctors are pissing me off!!!! I
think they got my test results mixed up or
something, the lady I went to wasnt even
real doctor, she was a nurse practioner
that examined me & is my gynecologist!

Nurse practitioners are fully capable of
performing examinations.
They take a sample and put it under a
microscope, sometimes even blood work.
I'm curious, did they check your blood or
just do an examination?
You can always go back and request an
actual doctor.

It is not the American Cross's obligation
to contact you.
I would say go back to the doctor and
request a BLOOD screening for ALL std's.
That might help pinpoint when you could
have contracted these.

well I have already been treated for it!I
thought maybe if American Red Cross looked
at my blood & saw that there was
something wrong with it & knew they
couldnt use it. The person donating the
blood was surely unaware, so they would
fill them in ya know! I dont know!!!!!

Maybe you weren't infected at that time?
I'm not sure because it's hard to pinpoint
when you could have contracted the
diseases.
I thought they said you probably
contracted these recently?
It could mean that you did so after
donating.
I know they check the blood though. I
think it is the law that they would have
to contact you if you had some kind of
communicable disease. I know for a fact
that they contact DHEC. I'm pretty sure
DHEC then contacts the donor in this type
of situation.
You haven't fooled around with ANYONE?

Did you just not have intercourse with
anyone else? These could be contracted in
other ways.

Then it HAS to be from him.
Either that or they were dormant for that
period of time since you were with someone
else...
I don't know what to say.

When was your BF tested and how long did
it take before they got back to him? It
would be a good idea to use condoms with
him - just in case. Also get tested for
HPV. Men are never tested for HPV, they
are carriers though.
