clicking sound after difficulty swallowing Posted: 03-20-08 15:56pm
Hey. This happens to me maybe once or
twice a month, and just started up again
today and I have no idea what it is. When
I try to swallow, its like my throat
muscle gets stuck half way there and it
feels like my atom's apple(or I guess lack
there of since I am a girl) is almost
stuck. I have to then work to swallow
really hard, and finally there is a
clicking feeling and sound and I can
swallow and my goes back to its normal
spot. If I swallow again the same thing
will happen. It usually doesn't happen
with food or anything, just swallowing
spit. This will usually go on for a day
or two, stop, and then start up in another
two weeks. Does anyone have any idea what
this might be?

click click, grrrrr Posted: 04-28-08 11:48am
yea i have this click that seems to happen
most when i swallow my spit. i started
noticing it say 2 years ago. before it
would only happen once a week but is
happening about everyday now but sumtimes
comes n goes. i've been reading other
post about clicking in the head n it seems
like other ppl have it too n they
recommend some sites Look up Palatal
Myoclonus on Wikipedia. i dont kno if
these websites are relevant but i thought
you should kno about them. i think i have
these clicking noises because of stress
and/or high blood pressure because on days
where i'm not tense the clicking seems to
go away. and they always seem to happen
after i wake or in bed right when im ready
to sleep. also around the time when i
have these clicks i tend to notice my
pulse through my head as blood is being
pumped through different veins and if they
are rythmic then the clicking is nowhere
to be found but if it isn't rythmic like
when im tensed is when i get the clicks
and most often only when i swallow my
spit. i can't really explain it. does
anybody kno of any remedies or practices
that can make it go away. would like any
suggestion.
oh this happens also after a big day of
smoking n drinking, maybe caffiene or
nicotine has sumthing to do with it. and
it doesnt happen outdoors for me.
