Cortizone injection side effects ? Posted: 03-25-08 07:36am
Hi
I don't know if I spelt it correctly and
my mind does tend to mix things up at
times, and Cortizone was mentioned as a
solution to wrist problems I am having due
to "Loss of cartlidge" during the same
visitation with the doc.
Maybe I got it all mixed up? but I had to
get three cortizone injections in my left
shoulder this morning as I could not turn
my head to the left due to a long-standing
(and increasingly painfull) shoulder
spasmism that physio is just not doing
anything about.
Can anyone give me information on what
Cortizone is and what it does? After the
injections (and a little bit now), I was
feeling very nautious with headaches.
Now, my shoulder muscles (and i suppose
that this is the purpose of the cortizone)
is "powerless". I can lift my shoulder,
but with a lot of effort and it feels like
the muscles has no power. Plus, my legs
are experiencing a similair effect (Feels
like my legs are heavy). Does cortizone
ONLY work on the point of injection or
would it spread to other areas?
Maybe I heard the doctor wrong and it's
some other kind of "muscle relaxant"?
