Cyst on ovaries ruptured
Posted: 07-20-08 23:28pm

A month ago I went to the emergency room on a saturday night for having extreme abdominal pains that were going on for a few weeks and never stopped. The pain got so bad I finally broke down and had my fiance take me to the doctors. They did an ultrasound (which totally blows, did you know you have to get a catheter if your under 6 months preg???) the doctor came back and said there was ALOT of fluid around my right ovary which meant a cyst had ruptured. That was the extent of information the doctor told me, he sent me home with a weeks worth of vikoden (or however its spelled) and then I had a follow up one week later with a different doctor who told me that the amount of fluid that was floating around gave her the assumption the cyst had been growing for who knows how long, could have been a year. Which I was having bad pains occasionally for a year so that made sense. ANYWAY, I am sent home with more drugs and thats it...I am going INSANE with all the pain and symptoms I have. I feel like I have to eat every hour or else I feel faint and dizzy...and then nausias instead of hungry CONSTANTLY...It is so horrible I just want to shoot myself sometimes. It has been a month exactly. How long does this usually take to get back to normal??? I was put on birth control, which I am ordered to take all the hormone pills and then start a new pack of pills right away and skip my period all together for 3 months. I just want to have my energy and ability to function like a normal person again. I havent been able to return to work b/c I feel sick half the day, literally. I still have pain in my lower abdomin, it is not severe like before, but the pain is still there to the point i want to stay curled up in a ball and not get out of bed. I have been in bed for basically a month now. When I try to do too much I start feeling faint so I have to take easy. The mornings are the worst. I always feel nausias...and on top of EVERYTHING....I am hypoglycemic, so I dont know how to tell the symptoms apart from low blood sugar, to just feeling like I need food or feeling dizzy b/c of the symptoms from the fluid. PLEASE HELP ME and teach me about this....how long will it take to get normal again!??! Any suggestions???

If you're still miserable after a month, I'd go back and get checked out at the doctors.
