Day after pill & sex
Posted: 03-31-08 21:27pm

My last period was march 6th, and i had sex on march the 17. I calculate that i was ovulating that time of the month, since my cycle is that of 28 or 29 days. We did not use a condom, so i took the day after pill about 12 hours after we had sex. I have been feeling tender breasts, and are nauseous. Is it too eraly to take a pregnancy test? Could i be pregnant?

Well, if you were pregnant, it'd be a bit too early for you to experience any pregnancy symptoms. It's been 14 days since you had the unprotected sex, so you can test now, although it may not be totally accurate since you're not even late for a period yet. Any time you have unprotected sex you risk a pregnancy in the process, so yes, you can be pregnant. However, you did take the morning after pill which will drastically reduce your risk. I wouldn't worry about it until you actually are late for your period and then test, that's at least another couple days. That way, you've waited over two weeks since your unprotected sex and you're late, which will help you to recieve an accurate reading.

sometimes plan b can cause symptoms that mimic pregnancy, so i wouldnt worry too much. just wait and see if your period comes, and if it doesnt, test then, but chances are you arent pregnant
