Death from panic attack
Posted: 04-15-08 14:18pm

I was always led to believe I couldn't die from a panic attack, but after reading these stories, i'm not so sure it isn't totally impossible.

What you read is not dealing with panic attacks. It is dealing with cases of intense fear. This can lead to death as the heart stops or a lethal cardiac rhythm occurs and death follows. Panic attacks do not cause death, only the sense of doom and despair.

I have never had a panic attack, I just suffer with generalized anxiety disorder/depression 24/7. I feel like I am losing my mind and feel like I am about to die. Nobody has been able to help to this point. I am still seaching. This is something new to me, always being mental/physically healthy until now. I am sorry you are going through this, I guess we just have to keep fighting until we can find a solution.

It's true. Panic attacks may very well make you feel like you're gonna die, along with the physical sensations and mental sensations, but you won't. Ever.

You can be "scared to death". It happens. For instance- such as when a person is buried alive and trying to claw their way out of a casket. The person literally dies of fear before they even lose oxygen.

It's a pretty far fetched idea, but you can die from a panic attack. But only if you let it kill you.

I read the articles and antigone said the same thing-

the articles are talking about dying from intense fear. That is different than a panic attack.
