Decrease in baby movement
Posted: 04-14-08 10:32am

Hey ladies I need some guidance. I have a feeling that I may be worrying for nothing but still you can never be too careful.

Im am 19 weeks tomorrow and I have felt the baby move for the past 2 weeks. Usually about 10 times throughout the day, lot of times less. Its usually when I am sitting at my desk at work. Well on Saturday I didnt feel him move at all. Like not even once. Last night I did feel him move when I was laying flat on my belly (which is getting a little harder to do...lol) So I know hes still swimming in there, but is it normal for their movements to decrease that much and that suddenly? I have an appointment on Monday so I will bring it up then but should I do it sooner?

Is it just cause the baby is still very small? the kicks are still very very faint. Also my belly has been sore like if I did 200 sit ups. Like I feel it when I move and stretch. Its like my muscles are flexed all the time. Is this just my belly expanding?

Thanks guys. This is my 1st so I have lots of questions.

Yes. Actually, it is unusual that you felt movement so early and so repetively. Usually there isn't a lot of movement felt until 20 + weeks. It isn't odd that you aren't feeling a lot of movement now.

Your stomach soreness is from your stomach muscles and ligaments stretching. You'll hear a lot (from your doctor too) about round ligaments pains. It is very common in pregnancy.

ok thanks for the encouragement. I do feel better. Like I said I was prolly worrying more than I needed to. its just weird having a moving living human being in their. LOL

The movements are very faint and somedays its only once or twice. But im also surprised I have felt anything this soon too. I was told not to expect anything for awhile either.

Wow so round ligaments stretching huh? Crazy.
