Depoprovera and contact bleeding Posted: 07-01-08 12:25pm
My main concern is after I have
intercourse I bleed. I dont know where
this is coming from its been going on for
about the last two months. My next concern
is if I take iron pills will this help
stop the bleeding? I am currently on
Deprovera birth control and at first I did
not have periods so I'm very confused by
all of this.

Bleeding after sex (contact bleeding)
should be taken very seriously and you
need to check that at your gynecologist as
soon as possible. It is very likely to be
caused by an organic lesion on the cervix
or vagina.
Iron pills can’t stop the bleeding. They
can only compensate for the iron you are
losing while bleeding. The main concern is
to find out the origin of bleeding.
Depoprovera can cause irregular periods or
complete loss of the periods. Contact
bleeding can’t be due to depoprovera.
