disclosing HIV status to surgeon ? Posted: 06-02-08 18:19pm
I'm fit, over 40, in good health but hiv+.
I am looking my age now and want to
undergo cosmetic surgery in Bulgaria to
regain some of my youthfulness, but I am
not sure if I need to disclose my status
there. I feel I should but I am worried I
will be turned away. Anyone know how I
stand in this matter? Any help would be
gratefully appreciated.

I am 48 and have AIDS and I think you
should tell them, they may find out threw
blood work and then what?? So tell them
and if they refuse you then maybe thats
the way it is supposed to be...find a
place in California or America somewhere.
A friend of mine had work done to look
better in his face in San
Fransisco,California a few years ago. Good
Luck.
I think you are right Homer. I feel
ethically uneasy about not disclosing my
status to anyone and as you said, I could
be found out anyway through a pre-op blood
test. That worries me from a legal
perspective too, but another problem I
have is a fiscal one - not a lot of money!
Bulgaria is the best option for me, but I
seriously wonder if any doctor would take
my case on. What is a man to do?! I thank
you for your thoughts on this Homer, and
all the best to you x
Any time,Jonn...let me know how it goes
and remember I am here if you ever need to
talk about anything...we are both
traveling thee same path and its always
good to have some one to talk to..
