I had cataract surgery in Feb. I developed
a severe case of strep endophthalmitis and
underwent emergency vitrectomy. I only had
and still only have light perception
visual acuity. I have since had 2 patent
iridotomys for closed angle glaucoma and
am using eye drops because pressure is
still high. Last week I had another
vitrectomy to remove an epiretinal
membrane and also scar tissue from front
of eye. I now have vitreous hemmorhage
which MD says is coming from fundus and
anterior chamber cell. Vision is worse if
possible. What is fundus of eye and cell
in anterior chamber? MD says he cannot see
into my eye any better than I can see out.
Have had several ultrasounds and that is
how vitreous hemmorhage diagnosis was
made. How long does it take for blood to
be absored from eye? I have been told not
to do anything because chance of retina
detachment is high. What are signs of
retina detachment? Since I cannot see from
that eye , I am worried I won't know if
that happens. MD says it will take many
months to a year before vision improves.
Do you agree?
