Well, i'm 18 and i'm thinking about taking
BC pill along with my boyfriend using
condom. I plan not to have child before
24. So is it fine to take pill continously
for the next 6 years? A friend told me
after using pills for a while, it is
difficult to get pregnant after stopping
the pills, is that right? If so, should i
stay on pills for a period of time and
stop, then start back again?
You are a-okay. Within a week or two of
going off of pills, you are a fertile
Myrtle. Ninety percent of pill-takers get
pregnant less than a year after they stop
taking the b.c. (info from
pregnany-info.org).
And, good job for using a condom too. Not
only is that extra protection against
pregnancy, but you will protect each other
from anything else (just in case, you
know!).
Good luck!

I took the pill continuously from the time
I was 16 until I was 23. The first month I
was off the pill, we got pregnant (which
is what we hoped for). There is no harm in
taking the pill long-term.
