My doctor just called me not long ago and said that I didn't pass my glucose test and that I have to go in on friday to take the 3 hour test... Shocked
I never done that before and I'm really worried now that I won't pass this one too.
whats gonna happened if I don't pass the 3 hour one???
Is it something I should be worried about??

thanks ladies!

i wouldn't worry about not passing the first test too much. if you ate sugary foods before taking the test, that will make you fail it. the test is to screen you for gestational diabetes. so if you don't pass the fasting 3 hour test you will be diagnosed with gestational diabetes.

Yeah don't worry. I failed my 1 hour and then went back to take the 3 hour and it was fine. The stuff you drink is grose though! I preferred the orange flavor when they gave me the choice. My friend failed both but it was the 3 hour that told them that in the first hour after she eats her sugar was to high so they told her to cut the sweets, pasta etc but, if she did eat those to exercise. She never needed insulin or anything. She was fine and so was her baby and the next pregnancy she didn't have the sugar issue at all. Hope this helps!

When I took the 1 hour one I didn't eat or drink anything. And I failed anyways.
But I do hope I pass the 3 hour one. They told me not to eat or drink after midnight.

Should I be worried about gestational diabetes if I do have it???

My mom had gestational diabetes with me, I think you have to go to the doctors more often and monitor your sugar all day. I was a BIG baby becuase my mom had it.

If not treated properly it can become very serious...

I hope they find your vein every time, they take blood 5 times, so it really sucks. I made them switch arms after the 3rd time, it was really tender.

If it's really bad, you'll have to take insulin. But usually they just tell you not to eat certain things and exercise. It's manageable, so don't worry too much. It's also easier if you don't get on bed rest for anything, cause exercising helps it a lot.
