it is still pretty early to detect a heartbeat on a doppler. i think 12 weeks you'll be able to hear it at the earliest but not entirely sure. try not to worry x

I was able to hear it at 11 weeks, it was just hard, because he kept kicking, and changing position

Ya but the difference in size of the baby between 9 and 11 weeks is huge. So i guess its not weird to not hear it. She wasn't concerned in the least

i think it is normal...i heard mine at 6 wks but it was with a vaginal u/s. They are going to try the tummy one in 3 wks, i will be 14 wks by then. She said they would be able to hear it by then. Dont worry about it, if your dr. didnt seem concerned then there probly isnt anything to worry about

Thanks trijos I saw the heartbeat on vaginal us at 6 weeks and it was 122bpm. I know i shouldn't worry about it, I've turned into this paranoid freak lately! lol

oh i know lol...im the same way about everything! This is my first preg. and evertime something happins, im always asking ppl if its normal lol. Its sooo neat seeing the heartbeat on u/s b/c all you see is the little flutter. I loved it!

I was too nervous during the u/s to even notice the fluttering! I was there because i was in the ER the night before with spotting and the u/s lady didn't tell me anything other then she thought everything was ok and showed me the baby but that the doctor would give me the final results. Well that was 3 weeks ago! So i just found out on Thursday that there was actually a good heartbeat. Theyre going to try to doppler on June 19th at my next appt so i'll be 13 weeks by then.

I bet your excited to hear it If just hearing that the baby has a heartbeat makes me so happy i cant imagine how i'll react when i actually hear it

Yeah, your baby is still really tiny right now. I'm not surprised they couldn't hear it yet. Hopefully by your next appointment they will be. It's the most amazing sound... you'll never forget that little "whoomp whoomp whoomp". It makes you wish you had a window on your abdomen so you could peek in at the little one!

totally normal not to be able to hear it at this stage but you will be able too soon!
