First doctor's appt today
Posted: 03-24-08 08:04am

I don't expect much to happen because it's the first appt. I remember the last time that nothing much happened at the first appt. If anything does, I'll make a post. I'm trying hard not to gain as much weight as I did last time around. In spite of everything I've been told I still believe that's why Chu was so huge. I'm not going through that again. I've also started up with jogging, and I'm doing a bit of ballet again. I didn't do much exercise with Chu and I think that helped make my labor more difficult. I want a better experience this time and I mean to do everything I can to make sure I have one.

have fun! i'm sure it'll be an uneventful appointment.

how much did you gain with chu and what did he weigh at birth? i think a lot of women learn from their first pregnancies and don't gain as much the next time. i don't know if your weight gain has anything to do with the size of the baby though. sarah gained like 60 with oni and 25 with nya and they were both 6-pounders. i gained 70 with finn and he was 8lb5oz, and this time i've gained about 30 and they think esme is even bigger than he was. maybe you had undiagnosed GD with chu? well, good luck! i'm sure you'll have no problem keeping your weight in check.

B, I'm not going to post exactly how much weight i gained but I'll just say that it was more than 50 lbs. Chu weighed 9 lbs 11 oz. i passed the glucose test, i assumed that that one was for gd. i guess i'll find out whether it was my weight gain or not if this time i have another 10 pounder. it may just be my genes that make me gestate pachyderms. I sincerely hope not. But whatever it is I'm definitely working towards a more moderate weight gain.

Thanks everyone! It was as uneventful as I remembered. My doc just confirmed pregnancy and gave me a due date. It was different from the one that I calculated. My due date is 11/21. November babies rock!

November babies certainly do rock Mr.
Green

I'm having my first appointment tomorrow, but I doubt anything will happen until I see my midwife. I don't think the doctor would even do a pregnancy test.. but he might give me a definite due date. It should be around the 22nd. Our due dates will be pretty close together, Kay! Very

Me too =)

As for tearing so badly because Chu was such a big baby.. Jenny was only 5lbs & I tore soooo bad. They spent 2 hours stitching me. Although I pushed very hard & very fast.. she came flying out like a speeding bullet Laughing so this time I'm hoping for a nice average 7lb baby.. I'm sure you are too!

Oni and Nya were both born at 37 weeks...BUT, they wouldn't have been any bigger than 7.5lbs at 40 weeks.

One day I'll have me a 7lb'er!! I'm DETERMINED! LOL!

Nope.

When she was born, her Dr realized he had made a miscalculation.

Not sure if you remember, but I had an u/s and he changed my due date to Feb. 12.

He did another u/s and said that because it wasn't 4 weeks, he wouldn't change my due date.

When she was born, he confirmed that she was NOT 40 weeks.
