Smoking tobacco and the risk to baby's health Posted: 07-25-08 08:59am
I was a smoker when I found out I was
pregnant. Once I found out, I quit
smoking and did great. But over the last
couple of weeks I have been really
stressed and not done so good. I had one
day two weeks ago where I had probably 6
cigarettes. Otherwise between then and
yesterday, I had a few days where I had
one cigarette or a cigar. Yesterday I had
3 cigarettes. I am not going to smoke
anymore. Have I already severely risked
my baby's health or if I never pick one up
again, should my baby be okay? This is my
first so I am really scared that I screwed
up bad and cannot believe I inhaled
another cigarette.

Current medical status: I am 11 weeks
pregnant. It was confirmed by my regular
doctor around 6 to 7 weeks. My first OBGYN
appointment is next week.
Current medical treatment: Just taking
vitamins and folic acid.
If you continue smoking you can really
risk your baby’s health!
