Fluttering?
Posted: 05-03-08 20:15pm

Ok, so i just hit 11 weeks today, but yesterday while I was at Babys R Us with my mom, I kept feeling this weird tickley bubbly feeling in my uterus. i think it was fluttering, is it possible to feel it this early? i'm not sure, but I felt it several times, and I'm pretty sure it wasn't gas, but it made me smile, because if that is my baby, its nice to finally feel its existence in my body. What do you guys think? fluttering?

Usually, first time moms feel their babies starting at 18-20 weeks(some as late as 25), and 2nd time moms usually feel their babies starting between 13-16 weeks. Thinner women have a tendancy to feel their babies sooner than heavier women. This is just the norm, every woman is different. If you think you felt your baby then, by all means, CONGRATS! However, do not be alarmed if movement does not seem regular until closer to 20+ weeks.

My doctor had told me [when i thought i was feeling flutters] that first time mom's who are either into yoga, exercise on a regular basis, and are very in tune with their bodies feel movement earlier.
Its not common to feel movement so soon, no one can really say if you did feel anything or not, but movement and regular movement usually hits around 18weeks and up.
It sounds like it could be gas, but no one can be 100% sure of it.
Congrats hun Smile

Im not thinking gas, i know that feeling, it felt like a a fish was in my belly it was weird, but it was only yesterday haven't felt it since then, have felt gas though, I also do exercise regularly. i work out a lot. I don't know, its hard to say, I've never been pregnant till now. So if it wasn't its nice to think that I'll feel it eventually

i felt little flutters i think too, but im not sure, i think when i was around 11weeks or so it was just gas and i thought it was movements, like stomach would quiver a little or twitch, it could have been the baby, but i remember when i felt movement it was 19weeks, and it was a great big kick! lol
So you might be feeling flutters this early Smile

Yeah I think it was hard to say, but it didn't feel like gas, more like I had a little fishy or butterly moving around. Definitelyno kick

The baby is very, very, very small still with really soft bones. It is really unlikely to feel your first child until closer to 18-20 weeks.

The first flutters DO actually feel like gas.

I know what you mean, like there's fishies in your tummy lol
I think i thought it was the baby, because it was my first time experiencing a feeling like that. You know what i mean?
I never had a gas bubbly feeling before, never felt or had something inside, well, me! before lol so i figured it was the baby.
Now im 25weeks, and when my baby is moving i know it, i feel the hiccups sometimes lol or kicks and gabs, it feels way different than what i though was movenent before!
You'll know for sure when its the baby's movement, lol for me i think my little ones going to be a kick boxer! lol
