Pregnant woman asked me today..."do you have children"? "Oh, no", I replied. "Do you want children?" she continued. "Nope," I answered.

She looked at me a second.

"How old are you?"

I knew where she was going with that one.

"Old enough," I said.

Conversation over.

I'm sorry, Birch. It's amazing how some people can't seem to fathom that there are confident, capable, able-minded people that choose to be child-free. I think it was presumptuous of her to assume you didn't want children because you weren't old enough to know better. You seemed to have handled the situation with grace, and I applaud you.

Oh, thank you, Aya. thanks

I just have to say it wasn't so much grace as sarcasm and a general dislike of most of humanity right now. Very

By the by... if you'd really wanted to get under her skin, you could have asked her when she was due. And when she answered, looked extremely shocked and asked if she was having twins. Pregnant women are EXTREMELY touchy about that. Wink

The above would have been what I would have pulled out of my little arsenal of sarcastic low-blows. You handled it much more gracefully than I would have. Laughing

You know Aya I'm actually not touchy about that. I have had some people tell me that my belly is big for how far I am along but to me is like a reassurance that the baby is alive and growing good hehe. I just love my belly. I guess it's because it is not big enough yet lol!

Wait until you're further along, Night. People will be convinced you're about to go into labor any second and you'll still have 6-7 weeks to go.

I totally believe that. There is two gals in my company that look like they are ready to pop in any second but I still see them both everyday going together for lunch. Kind of neat the two can keep each other company like that. I will have no company. There is another gal who's pregnant two weeks behind me but she works in a different department so we don't see much.
