You might request a mental status test
from your GP. Mental status tests
determine whether a disease or condition
affects your thinking abilities, and
whether your mental condition is improving
or getting worse. Tests include:
* orientation to person, place, and
time
* attention span
* judgment
* recent memory
* remote memory
* word comprehension, reading, and
writing
If problems exist, youll then want o
request a neuropsychological examination
to formally assess brain function. A
psychological specialist called a
neuropsychologist is responsible for
this.
Do you have a family physician or GP you
can visit?

If you're still in school, you might want
to consult with your school psychologist
or counselor. Or, if you can provide me
with a city, I can try to help you find
sliding scale or free public clinics.

Well, I suppose that you could exercise
your brain by taking some brain memory
quizzes. I found a few searching for the
keywords "online brain memory quiz" on
Google. Here are some cool sites:
BBC mind
and gender test (off-topic, but
interesting)

First, review blood pressure and
cholesterol. Anything that impedes blood
flow will starve brain cells.
Folic acid and fish (omega fatty acids)
may help improve brain function.
Cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli,
brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower,
and bok choy may also help...as do leafy
green vegetables like spinach, collard and
mustard greens, kale and Swiss chard.
Make sure that you also incorporate
berries (all varieties) into your diet and
other fruits such as red apples, grapes,
plums, cherries, and black currents.
Other foods can hep memory like eggplant,
rhubarb, red onion, red/purple cabbage,
and red beets.
Does that help?
