Many years ago I fractured by talus bone
in my ankle. It was surgically repaired
with a screw, which still remains. My
ankle feels strong, but I have refrained
from running, skiing, jumping, etc. for
fear of reinjuring it.
I am curious to hear about others'
recoveries and their activity level. Do
people with this injury resume a fully
active lifestyle or are activities like
running out of the question?
Thanks in advance.

fractured talus Posted: 05-07-08 14:58pm
I fractured my talus in 1993. I also had
two pins in my right ankle that were able
to remove in 1995. I am also compromised
on my left side due to left foot drop. If
it weren't for the foot drop I would be
able to do a lot more activities
including: jumping, running, etc. I would
say to start out with a small activity and
see how it feels. If you have pain then I
would stop and let it rest.
