I had gastric bypass surgery in January
2007 & developed a stomach ulcer in
June of that same year. I have been
fighting it ever since. I am 6'3 &
down to 165 pounds. Way too thin! I
can't seem to find anything to eat. I am
taking liquid carafate & nexium.
Since having the surgery, I also found out
that I am lactose intolerant.
Has anyone had this same thing. What can
I eat? I need to gain some weight because
it is getting serious. My gastric surgeon
says that he can cut the ulcer out, but I
will lose another 20 pounds while it
heals. Help!!
Why did you have gastric bypass surgery?
Were you overweighted or else?
Where is the ulcer located?
What symptoms do you have? Why you can't
eat?

I had g.b. in Sept. of 06 and have
developed an ulcer. I was told it was
because of the anti-inflammatories I had
been taking for arthritis. I, too, am
having a hard time eating. The ulcer
bothers me enough to make me not want to
eat (which is really unusual). Seems many
things upset it and I just don't have the
urge to keep up my food intake. I am 5'9"
and have dropped half my body weight - I
now weigh about 136.. I'd like to know the
easiest things on the stomach with the
most protein and nutritive values.. I'm
really not fond of protein drinks..
