Current medical status: I have only had
unprotected sex about 3 times, with the
same guy, who has not been very sexually
active. Since we have started I have had
really bad itching around my vaginia, and
it has been very sore and tender. My
biggest concern is that the itching stops!
What could it be, and how do I get it
fixed? I am currently on the pill, but I
do not want to go to the gyn, the lady is
very weird!
Current medical treatment: I thought it
was a yeast infection, and I am really
into herbal remedies, so I have been using
tea tree oil.. but I am not seeing any
real improvement. Also, I am taking
amoxcyline for a urinary tract infection,
but I am not sure if that matters..
Referring to your symptoms (“bad itching
around your vagina”) and data that you
use amoxicillin for a urinary infection,
you could be experiencing a yeast
infection of the vagina. Yeast infections
can occur after prolonged usage of a large
specter antibiotic like amoxicillin.
Herbal medicines won’t help treat
vaginal yeast infections so you have to
visit a gynecologist to confirm or exclude
the diagnosis and to give you a proper
medicine.
