I'm not per-say a care-giver...except for
on this site
But in terms of my personality, I have
difficulty receiving sometimes ... I feel
kinda guilty if you know what I mean...
The giving is to the other side...I tend
to give too much and allow others to walk
over me...but I enjoy helping others and
giving of my self.

I am more of a giver than receiver. I have
a tough time accepting help myself. So I
understand how many of the the elderly
feel when they come to that point in their
life, some of them tell me how tough it is
to give up that independence.

I understand how you feel with the guilt
but as people tell me and I've even said
this...We wouldn't do it if we didn't care
plus we want to do help and be there. It's
in our nature to care as it's in their
nature. Unfortunately we all are going to
need help at some point in our lives. I'm
on both ends right now with my declining
health but I'm still trying to take care
of others.

Heh...tell me about it...
I always thaught I would have to prepare
my self to take care of my parents when
they reach that "certain" age... At this
point, it seems more likely that my sister
would have to do that...and maybe even
help me from time to time.
But...bleh, I shouldn't think like that.
No one can say for certain what lies
ahead...
I know at least that I am now prepared in
the sense of knowing how "helpless" one
can feel at times.
Like the old worn out saying
goes..."Nothing happens without a reason".

i give--down to the very last drop of life
i have in me. I work myself to death for
my guys. When something is given to me i
am eternally greatful. if you help me you
end up with my heart and ill do anything
for you .
