Going off the pill Posted: 03-05-08 00:01am
Hey, my boyfriend and I just broke up
because he cheated on me. I feel upset and
hurt. I feel so stupid because I lost my
virginity to him. I started the pill a
little over a month ago because we were
sexually active. Since we broke up, I
decided to go off the pill because I have
no desire to date right now. I want to get
my life in order, and when I do start
dating, I will not have sex until I know
that he is the right person for me. I made
a mistake, and I don't want to make
another mistake by having sex with someone
who is not right for me. I'm sure it will
be at least a couple years before I will
have sex again. I am going off the pill.
Are there any side effects? How long does
a full pack of pills last?

Well, a full pack of pills should be a
month's worth (28 days). If you're wanting
to know if you can keep them and use them
later, refer to the expiration date on the
package. If I were you I would finish that
pack you're on, but just not start
another. You might have some abnormal
bleeding, especially since you've only
been on it for a month, but don't worry
about that. Other than regular pms type
symptoms if you get your period, you
shouldn't experience any side effects.

Once you stop taking pills, that is IT!
It is OUT of your system QUICKLY!
You may have some abnormal bleeding and
spotting though as your body adjusts back
to your natural hormone levels.
PLEASE try and not be so hard on
yourself!! HE was the loser that lost you
from his cheating ways.
SEX is a wonderful thing, and I am sure
you will find someone who is worthy of
YOUR LOVE.
You are smart to be careful about your
sexual partners, having lost your
virginity and wanting to be careful next
time...
BUT..Your virginity does not define the
beautiful quality of your womanhood, or
your love.
The next lucky man that has your heart
will have your LOVE, and that is the MOST
precious gift you can give someone.

Thank you so much. That really helped
boost my self-esteem. I thought I could
trust him, and I thought I loved him. I
feel like I can't trust anyone anymore. I
didn't take my pill this morning. How long
does sperm live in the vagina?
I posted in the "Sexually Transmitted
Diseases" forum, but I haven't gotten any
replies yet. Does anyone know anything
about STD's? He told me before we started
having sex that he was with 2 other girls
before me, and he told me that he got a
blood test and it was negative. I hope he
told the truth, but I want to get tested
just in case, since I don't trust him. How
long does it take for STD's to show a
positive on a test? If I got tested now,
would it be accurate?

Up to five days- if you've had sex
recently, I'd keep taking it for a while
just to make sure.

I'm sure you'll be fine if you stop taking
it now

Does anyone have information on STD's? I
want to get tested, and I need to know if
my results would be accurate.
