Don't feel bad, I am in my third trimester and I noticed an increase in hair growth on my belly a few months ago. Granted it has stopped growing now, but I felt like something was wrong with me. I heard it goes away a few months after the baby arrives, so I am hoping. I also got a lot of ingrown hairs to, I got one on my scalp, armpit and thigh. When I brought it up to the Dr. he said it was due to hormones and that my hair folicles were getting blocked because of the rapid hair growth. So good luck hun.

Do not Shave it off It will go away on it's own. I have it with my first pregnancy and it when't away. and now it's back with my 2ed pregnancy. If you Shave it it will grow faster and heaver and will not go away.

That is untrue. Hair does not know if it's been cut - other than the root in your scalp, hair is dead. You may notice it more when it grows back because the end is blunt and not tapered. It's an old wive's tale that shaving makes hair grow back faster and thicker.

To the original poster: it should go away soon after you give birth. In the meantime, you can shave it if it's really bothering you.

AyaMiyaki i am sorrry but i have a good friend who shaved and now she still has it and it thick. She gave birth 4 years ago an it's still there.

Babe: your friend might still have her hair because of her hormone changes. Your body's chemistry changes after pregnancy and childbirth. It has nothing to do with her shaving it off.
