Hallucinations about skin
Posted: 03-11-08 16:20pm

About last week,i started to see the most horrific things when i look in the mirror.I can see severe acne, patches, rashes, dry skin, huge marks(and i mean huge) and pimples, everything!!!It's all over, but whenever i ask anyone, they just say i'm imagining things and there's nothing there.
Every single day i'm starting to see myself looking more and more like Freddy Kruger.I was absolutely horrified when i looked today.I felt physically sick!!! I see a monster staring back at me! It's making me depressed.I've started drinking to try and feel braver about it.I can just remember in my head,a monster in the mirror. It's making me ill.I look and just see my entire face as some kind of horror mask. Crying
or Very sad Crying
or Very sad Crying
or Very sad
Why can no one else see it???

You may have a condition called body dysmorphic disorder. This is a mental disorder that involves a distorted body image. It is generally diagnosed in those who are extremely critical of their physique or self-image, despite the fact there may be no noticeable defect.

You are not alone.

I know you feel like a monster, but I promise you are not. Try to keep a focus on the body parts you do like about yourself and bring those parts out. For example, if you have great hips, wear dresses that show it off! You will feel a bit better about yourself.

Its normal for parents to be scared or in denial if their child comes to them saying that they think they have a problem. Parents always want the best for their kids, and its a shock if something isn't really how they planned it. Going to a doctor would be great. You would get more insight on what exactly is going on and what you can do to feel better about yourself and get help through this.
