HCG levels low and baby measuring small!!!
Posted: 06-12-08 20:28pm

On the 23 of May I went to my doc to confirm I was Preg.Based on my LMP i should have been 6 weeks than..

Now come last Friday (june 6) should be around 8 weeks +2. I go to the hospital bc I am experiencing red bleeding ( i have been spotting brown off and on the whole time )... so anyways I go to the hospital and they get blood work and internal ultrasound. When the doctor returns with the results he tells my that the baby is only measuring at 6 weeks and is a little small and my hcg levels are low, but there is a Fetal Heartbeat. The bleeding he says is only from implantaion.

I went to the doc yesterday to follow up and get more blood taken and when she was going through my last blood work she noticed that my levels are not doubling at all. They are rising, but slowly.

I am waiting for my results now and am terrified that I am going to loose this baby. This is mine and my bf first baby and we are so excited, but scared that I am going to loose it. I am just looking for some support and any advice.

Thank you everyone in advance!! Sorry if this is a little long...

I'm not a doctor but it doesn't sound good hun Sad I really think you should try to prepare yourself for the fact that you might lose your little bean.

That said, don't give up hope - maybe some other ladies will come along and tell stories similar to yours that had a happy ending.

I'll be thinking and hoping for you, I know how hard it is.

So i got my results back. My beta went from 12019 last Friday to 22966 Today!! So it did not double in 5 days, but it is slowly raising. So i am hoping that it is a good thing.

There is a point at which the levels will no longer double. I think you are probably at that point. As long as they are rising things should be okay. Please keep us updated.

Please do not rely on the sonograms or blood work. Don't worry about the unknown just yet. Yes, it could happen, but for now, stay positive! You are still very early, and at this point the baby may take off and triple in size. Again, don't worry about the unknown, not saying to be in denial, you know there is a risk. If not, I believe all things are meant to be. How old are you?

Lost Baby
Posted: 07-16-08 21:13pm

I thought I would update everyone.

I ended up in the hospital on Thursday (june 10) with major pains ( I was in tears they were so bad) . I soon started bleeding badly. They gave me pain meds, and meds to slow the bleeding. they ended up checking my hcg levels (which were lower ) and everything like that. They decided that i needed to have a D&C or I would just keep bleeding. So I was stuck at the hospital all day bc they refused to let me out without a D&C. In short I lost my baby.

I am having a really hard time with this and cry whenever I see ppl with babies and get teary eyed when i see preg ppl My bf understands, but it is hard on him bc I get emotional really easy right now. Any advice how I can cheer up some and feel better. I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks in advance.

Oh, I am so sorry for your loss. I know it is heartbreaking. There are no words to make you feel better. Time will help heal your wounds. For some reason this baby was not healthy and not meant to be, I am so so sorry!
