He's Here!

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to let you know that I had my baby. I went a week early. I lost my mucous plug on Thursday night, and actually started having mild contractions that continued through Friday. I decided to time them Friday night, and they were 10 minutes apart, so we went to the hospital and they said i was 2 cm dialated and kept me overnite to monitor the contractions. they sent me home Saturday morning, which was the day of my baby shower. By the time the shower was to start my contractions were 6 and 7 minutes apart, so I stayed upstairs in my room while my shower was going on and my husband took my place. They were 4 mintues apart by the end of the shower and I was in sooooo much pain I was crying. I tried taking a bath to ease some of the pain but it didn't really help, sooooo we went back to the hospital. They checked me and I was 5 cm dialated. They waited 5 hours and then gave me an epidural, which allowed me a little sleep. They checked in the morning around 2 oclock am and I was 8 cm dialated. At 5 am I started pushing. I pushed for 3 hours and they found that the baby was tooo big to come through and I was losing too much blood. They did an C-Section and he was born at 9:50 am. He was 6 lbs. 4.7 oz, 18.5 inches long.

He's adorable. I had to stay in the hospital until Thursday this week, so I was there a total of 6 days! Ughhhh....I was very sleep deprived because the nurses kept waking me up every 10 minutes to check my blood pressure, catheter, temps, etc. They were driving me crazy! But now we are home and doing pretty well.

Just thought I'd let you know.

Congratulations!!

I know how you feel about the nurses, I was about to slash the BP cup, lol. You must have a small pelvis for a 6lb baby being too big!!

I had to have a c-section too. I stayed 3 days after I begged to stay an extra day, and I had to WALK OUT. Which is weird, because when my sister gave birth NATURALLY, she wasn't ALLOWED to walk out, they had to wheel her out... sorry just wanted to vent about my stupid hospital...
