Headache around left eye
Posted: 04-18-08 05:53am

Does anyone have any advice. I frequently (2/3 times a week) get headaches which always seem to be like a dull ache around the left eye socket. As the day progresses they normally move to the left side of my head, but ofen they remain above my eye.
They seem to be accompanied by intense hunger or frequently needing to go to the toilet and pass a stool.

I am getting really fed up with it. I've been to my local Dr who simply told me to eat when I am hunger as he thinks that is a trigger. However when I wake up in the middle of the night with this kind of pain it isn't practical to eat as occasionally it leads to vomitting too.

The only effective treatment is using an eye bath, accompanied with Anadin (pain killers), but I have to take at least 4/6 of these in a short space of time to have any effect and even when I do this majority of the time they simply dull the pain for a couple of hours and it returns more intensely.

I am at my wits end. I am in a vicious circle of taking pills or having the headaches.

Anyone got any advice ?

Does this pain start near one eye and shoot up to the top of the head on that side?
Is the pain often starting at the same time each day?
How long does the pain last?
Is this pain sudden and severe, accompanied with watery eye and runny nose?

Yes it is normally early hours of the morning or first thing in the morning.
Yes it does normally begin as a pain round the eye and then progress to the same side of my head.
Normally lasts about 6/7 hrs
It can be accompanied by a runny eye or nose....

Are you experiencing dropping eyelid and red eye?
Do you feel sweaty, restless, or nauseated when you have headache attack?
Do you find this pain very severe?
How long is the period of having this kind of headache?
Have you been waken up from the headache at night?
