Headaches , migraines , and medications Posted: 07-10-08 05:58am
I have a history of headaches and have
tried just about every treatment and
preventive medicine there is with negative
results. Recently I have been waking up
in the middle of the night with
excruiating pain in the lower left side of
my head. It is a constant dull pain that
seems to worsen when I move my head. Lying
down makes the pain worse and sitting up
only eases the pain slightly. I would sure
like to know what type of headaches these
are and any suggestions as to the
cause.

Current medical status: high blood
pressure, headaches
Current medical treatment: toprol xl 50mg;
neurontin 300mg 2 capsules 3 times daily;
lotrel 10-40mg; fioricet prn
Given your description, these headaches
could be a tension headache or a migraine.
In your case, a headache can also be due
to the high blood pressure or to the
medications you are taking.
